SMRI uses kW per ton as the true value of the performance of an HVAC system. Utilizing this standard eliminates ambiguity in determining the accuracy of energy efficiency projects. Clients may elect to have SMRI install temporary data gathering tools to obtain the kW/ton of the entire system or may elect to have a permanent installation of the data gathering tools. The permanent installation enables the client to view performance on a real time all the time basis. SMRI works with the clients mechanical and or controls contractor to define the scope of work to install data gathering points. SMRI commissions the installation, analyzes the gathered data, and provides the client with summary data that supports the decision making process. This is the recommended first step in understanding the impact of an HVAC energy efficiency project.  And is a sub set of information gathering to provide a detailed SMRI Roadmap. A permanent SMRI Benchmarking installation alleviates the need for field personnel to retrieve results that are necessary in securing local utility energy incentive dollars.
